Intraoral camera

The advent of the intraoral camera has allowed for a greatly improved level of understanding of dental and oral condition, for both our patients and us.

This highly advanced piece of technology provides a digital visualisation of your mouth, being gently inserted into your mouth, where it records an image of the areas in need of assessment.

From the enhanced perspective of the intraoral camera, we are able to provide a visual assessment of your oral situation, with a higher level of clarity than ever before. We are also able to show you the impact and occurrence of any issues which may be developing within your mouth, and as such, allow you to far better understand the need for treatment and the necessary steps which will be taken to alleviate the problem.

The benefits of treatment can also be felt with a greater degree of impact, as you are able to see the actual effects of treatments in all areas, such as scaling removal, tooth capping to your back teeth and fillings.

TENS Machine

(Transcutaneous Electro Neural Stimulation)

In our continued efforts to provide effective orthotic therapy to those patients who are in need of musculoskeletal treatment, the use of the TENS machine has helped to alleviate a range of problems associated with the mouth and jaw.

Aided by the TENS equipment, therapy in neuromuscular disorders has been greatly enhanced. This in turn leads to improvements in the overall health and wellbeing of the body.

The TENS machine is a highly developed piece of equipment, which serves to provide a series of electrical impulses that stimulate the nerves and cause them to relax. In doing so, the TENS treatment can help to combat the problems of tension and misalignment, which can occur as a result of neuromuscular deformity.

TENS treatment is a very relaxing procedure which often lasts between 45 and 90 minutes. Patients have testified to the modest sensation experienced during treatment and it is a procedure that can often see patients fall asleep during the process.

OPG Digital

OPG Digital has enabled an overwhelming level of enhancement when analysing patient oral structure, with its visualisation and x-ray ability directing images for immediate viewing, to a computer screen.

X-rays are a critical tool that enable us to detect cavities in between your teeth, determine bone level, and the health of your bone. They evaluate the nature of the individual case and provide the insight necessary to diagnose, treat, and maintain your dental health. X-rays can also facilitate the necessary examination of the roots and nerves of the teeth, diagnose lesions and assess damage when unexpected trauma occurs.

Whilst the use of traditional x-rays has involved exposure to relatively high levels of radiation, the advent of digital x-ray facilities has led to a reduction in radiation levels up to 90%. In addition, the use of harmful chemicals within the processing stage has also been eliminated.

Not only does the use of OPG digital x-rays increase the safety of the procedure, the very nature of the technology allows for an increased ability to clearly visualise the area in question, and to enhance on specific details, by enlarging or reducing the images on screen. Results are more instantly accessible and the level of sharpness and clarity is greatly improved.

Snap Instant Dental Imaging

At DesignDentistry we make use of SNAP Instant Dental Imaging to show you your perfect smile!

SNAP Instant Dental Imaging is a camera that allows the transfer of an image into automatic editing software, to transform your smile in an instant.

Patients can be shown how their teeth will appear after being whitened, rendered with veneers and many more restorative and cosmetic treatments.

The software produces a side-by-side comparison photo so you can visually show patients before and after shots. Patients are now able to view the end results before commencing treatment and decide from here.

This innovative technology can save valuable time and is cost effective in ensuring patients receive the correct treatment for their needs.
